The 2009 boating season is upon us here at the Newport Yachting Center Marina! Our team enthusiastically looks ahead, hoping to take advantage of good weather and friendly sails as we work to bring the Marina back on line. As the Marina Manager, I am proud to watch it transform from a sleepy, winter parking lot to the activity-filled center, bustling with people soaking up the excitement of Newport!

As I begin to speak with new and old customers alike, I am always impressed by how many of you look forward to another season here on the water. Whether you are in a 200 foot yacht or fishing in a 20 foot center console, nothing compares to time spent with friends and family on the harbor and beyond. The variety of people and events throughout our city makes every day something to look forward to. As problems and challenges around the world and at home weigh heavily on us all, it is more important than ever to be thankful for what we have. I consider myself very lucky to be working everyday in such a warm, inviting place surrounded by natural beauty. Join us!

Staying at our Marina is truly a unique experience, one where live shows, festivals, events, shops, and award-winning restaurants are all located just steps from our docks. In fact, this summer and fall at the Newport Yachting Center is shaping up to be one of the most exciting, event-filled seasons we have ever had. A quick snapshot of headliners includes Michael McDonald, Huey Lewis and The News, and Chris Isaak performing at our Sunset Music Series; while the laughs keep coming with the likes of Ron White, Frank Caliendo, Tracy Morgan and many more at the Newport Comedy Series. Don’t miss our Newport Boat Shows and annual festivals like Chowder Cook Off and Oktoberfest! These events promise make your stay unforgettable. Marina guests, as always, are provided with certain preferences at our Newport Waterfront Events. With the marina open and our team reassembled, I am counting the days until I can push off-shore once more with family and friends; the memories created on the water are of the fondest.
