From New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Points South:
Take Interstate 95 North to Route 138 East - Exit 3 around Hope Valley, RI. Continue on Route 138 to Newport Bridge ($2.00 toll). Take first exit off Newport Bridge (Scenic Newport) turn right off exit ramp and drive straight through 1st set of traffic lights. At 2nd set of lights turn right onto America’s Cup Avenue. Follow America’s Cup through 4 sets of traffic lights and the Yachting Center will be on your right.
From Cape Cod and Points East:
Take 195 West to Fall River. Take exit for Newport Route 24 South. Follow Route 24 South, which turns into Route 114. Follow Route 114 into Newport. Approximately one mile from city line, just past Newport City Hall, turns right onto Marlborough Street. Proceed to the traffic light on America’s Cup Avenue and take a left. Follow through 2 traffic lights. After the second light, the Yachting Center will be on your right.
From Boston:
Take Interstate 93 South out of Boston to Route 24 South. Take exit for Newport Route 24 South. Follow Route 24 South, which turns into Route 114. Follow Route 114 into Newport. Approximately one mile from city line, just past Newport City Hall, turns right onto Marlborough Street. Proceed to the traffic light on America’s Cup Avenue and take a left. Follow through 2 traffic lights. After the second light, the Yachting Center will be on your right.
From Boston and Points North and Northwest:
Take Interstate 95 South to 195 east to Route 24 South, just after Fall River, MA. Continue on Route 24 South to Route 114 South. Route 114 South will take you directly into Newport. Approximately one mile from the city line, just past Newport City Hall, turns right onto Marlborough Street. Proceed to the traffic light on America’s Cup Avenue and take a left. Follow through 2 traffic lights. After the second light, the Yachting Center will be on your right.

We are located a short walk south of the Gateway Center, Newport’s transportation and visitor information hub, which is located at 23 America’s Cup Avenue. RIPTA provides direct service to our property via the 61/Orange and 62/Red lines. Riders can choose to either buy a day pass at the Gateway Center or pay as they go. RIPTA riders pay just $2 for all-day parking at the Gateway Center and receive discounts to many area attractions.

- Kingston, RI: From the Amtrak Station in Kingston, RI, RIPTA offers limited service to Newport on its 64 line.
Bus:
- From Boston: Peter Pan/Bonanza offers bus service from South Station in Boston to the Gateway Center in Newport via Fall River, MA.
- From New York: Adventure Northeast operates summer service from New York to Newport. Greyhound and Peter Pan/Bonanza offer Service to Providence’s Kennedy Plaza from New York and other cities. From Kennedy Plaza in Providence, RIPTA offers frequent service on its 60 line to the Gateway Center in Newport.
Air:
- Providence: TF Green Airport (PVD) is the closest major airport to Newport. Cozy Cab offers a shuttle service from TF Green to the Gateway Center and area hotels.
- Boston: From Logan Airport (BOS), Peter Pan/Bonanza provides limited bus service to Newport via Fall River, MA.
Ferry from Providence:
- RIPTA offers ferry service between Newport and Providence from May-October, departing from Conley’s Wharf/Providence Piers at 180 Allens Avenue in Providence and arriving at Perrotti Park in downtown Newport, one block from the Gateway Center.
Ferry from Jamestown:
The Jamestown & Newport Ferry offers ferry service between Jamestown & Newport departing from Conanicut Marina, One Ferry Wharf, Jamestown Village and arriving at Perrotti Park or Bowen¹s Landing, Newport, just north of the Newport Yachting Center. The Jamestown departure has day parking available uptown on Narragansett Avenue between the Jamestown fire station and the Town Hall, or at the Conanicut Marina Boatyard site located behind the Police Station on Conanicus Avenue with shuttle service to Ferry Dock (call 401-423-7157 for shuttle).
